Updated primary bedroom - Collaboration Martha & Ash and House of Drennan

When our dear friend Rebecca Bridges of House of Drennan mentioned a planned update to her existing primary bedroom in Rock Hill, SC, we said "yes" before she even finished her sentence.

With an instinctive eye for color, considered layering, and warmly curated interiors, Rebecca's work carries that rare and undeniable je ne sais quoi — the kind that can't be taught. It's woven into her bones through childhood travels and a mother and grandmother who loved nothing more than an estate sale (and whose legacy lives on in the name of her business).

Add in the fact that Rebecca is also one of our closest friends in life - we knew this would be a really special collaboration. <3

Take a dive with us into the project, starting with the pièce de résistance — the bed treatment!

The Bed Cornice

Rebecca came armed with a sketched shape for the bottom of the cornice to create a truly custom look and to define the tone of the space.

Covered in her provided fabric and lined on the inside with a coordinating print, we edged the bottom of the upholstered cornice with a contrast cord with a solid gold.

Here's a couple of shots of it arriving on site and a peek of it upside down awaiting installation. It was a mammoth install!

The Bed Drapery

Drapery panels were made to flank the cornice and line the backside of the bed, using the same pattern selected by Rebecca and then contrast-lined with a coordinating print.

Custom fabric banding in a contrast solid was added to the leading edge.

The Pillows, Cushion & Bed Scarf

Shams were crafted in our "Bone" linen with a contrast cord, finished with her custom monogram. We also made custom decorative pillows in a COM with a contrast flange and a bolster pillow featuring a custom banding detail, both with fabric provided by Rebecca.

A custom cushion was made to fit the bench at the foot of the bed, along with a bed scarf in coordinating fabrics to complete the look.

The Window Drapery

For the bedroom windows, Rebecca selected our M&A Solid Color Linen Drapery Panels in color "Bone". She paired it with a custom-edge gold fabric banding in a solid (that matches the banding on the bed drapery — chef's kiss) and a provided decorative drapery trim down the leading edge.

Pleats are in our "Euro" style, with our custom french curved iron hardware in color Gold.

Rebecca's Top Picks:

Fav Pleat – Euro

Fav M&A linen color – Bone

Decorative trim or no? – Into Trim!

Favorite soft good that makes a room – Drapery Panels. They add color, texture and frame windows without blocking natural light.

Go-to Paint Color – SW Rainwashed: It's in high gloss on many of the ceilings in my personal home.

Ideal Dream Client – Someone who values home and appreciates the work that goes into creating it. Someone kind, trusting, responsive and most of all – FUN!
